Fees

Durrant Medical Clinic is a mixed billing practice.

Fees are determined by each doctor and by the complexity and time of the consultation. Fees are payable on the day.

We endeavour to keep our fees as affordable as possible. Consequently, we bulk bill children 15 years old and under Monday to Friday (fees apply for procedural appointments and from 5pm and Saturday).

To further assist you with payment we are able to transmit your claim on the spot and you will receive the medicare rebate promptly leaving you out of pocket only the difference.

Please note, TAC and WorkCover consultation fees are settled by the patient at the end of consultation. Patients claim their rebate directly with TAC and WorkCover. Fees differ from standard consultations.

Please note, credit card and EFTPOS surcharge applies on fees.

New Patients

We welcome new patients to Durrant Medical Clinic.

We require new patients book a 30-minute appointment as the doctor needs time to get to know you, and your medical and family history.

We ask all new patients to bring along a list of all their current medications, photo ID and Medicare Card to their first visit. If you have any previous history such as mental health plans, chronic health plans etc please bring these to your appointment also. Alternatively, we will request your records from your previous GP.

You can do this online via HotDoc or via the button below. Should you have any queries kindly call our friendly reception team.

Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time and GP. Emergencies will always be given priority and our reception staff will attempt to contact you if there is any unforeseen delay or your GP has been called away.

We ask all patients with even mild cold or flu symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, loss of taste or smell to notify reception.

We ask you to wait in your car or outside and call reception. Your doctor will call you when ready for you to enter the clinic.

Please call reception for any clarification 9592 5133

If you or a family member requires an interpreter service, we can organise this for you. Please let us know when you make the appointment.

Certain appointments will take a longer time such as Mental Health Plans and complex issues.

Our Vision

Our mission is to be a leading general practice clinic and provide:

  1. Patient-Centred Care Excellence: Our aim is to be recognised as a premier healthcare provider, renowned for our patient-centred approach. We deliver personalised service and evidence-based care.
  2. Collaborative and Empowered Team: We foster a culture of collaboration, respect, and empowerment among our healthcare professionals and staff. We believe such a culture is fundamental in providing the best medical care to our patients.
  3. Strong Patient-Provider Relationships: We build enduring relationships with our patients, based on trust, empathy, and open communication. By actively involving patients in their healthcare decisions and providing comprehensive education, we empower them to take an active role in managing their health and achieving optimal outcomes.
  4. Continuous Quality Improvement: By conducting regular evaluations and encouraging feedback from stakeholders we aim to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of our services.
  5. Giving back: We are a teaching practice and we are actively involved in the development of the next generation of doctors. We host medical students from Melbourne University and now and then you may be asked if a medical student can sit in on your consultation. You may be impressed with the amount of knowledge and the contribution of our medical students. We also support and develop doctors in becoming Specialist GPs.
